A Reflection

The Five Disguises
of Resistance™

A self-assessment by Mark Moberg, CFP®

In my experience, the person sitting across from you almost never knows they are resisting. They think they are thinking.

This is not a quiz. There are no right answers. There are eight scenarios, each one drawn from the kind of moment where you're standing at the edge of something and you know it. Your only job is to notice which response feels most honest — not most admirable. Most honest.

You may recognize yourself in one disguise. You may recognize yourself in three. The point is not to diagnose yourself. The point is to see the costume so you can see what's underneath it.

Your Reflection

These disguises don't disappear once you see them. But they stop being the thing that decides for you. The obstacles are real. Their power comes not from their size but from their invisibility. You've just made yours a little more visible.
